Grammarly- A Review - (After 2 months of use)
Grammarly- A Review.
Grammarly is an extension that could be added
to Google Chrome or Word, it can also be installed on computers using the .exe
file. It corrects the mistakes-be its spelling errors or punctuation mistakes-
that people make while writing articles. In this post, I will try to show some
ways to use it effectively, or let us say more effectively than it seems.
Grammarly, once you added it to your browser
or Word, or once you download the program, will automatically correct all your
mistakes while you are writing. If your mother tongue is not English, it is for
good, especially when you communicate with foreign people.
There are some advantages and disadvantages of
using Grammarly when you write in English. Your goal should naturally be to use
the advantages and avoid disadvantages. But it is not always so easy to
distinguish them. For example, if something, a feature of Grammarly which you
think is very useful is not necessarily an advantage. And some difficulties may
indeed be advantages. Let us start with the advantages of Grammarly.
Grammarly helps you write better and it
corrects your mistakes. I can imagine you say: “Yay! That is great. How can
Grammarly have any disadvantages?” That is the right question to ask. Yes,
Grammarly’s correcting your mistakes and suggesting new words are some really
good features. And it also underlines your mistakes and makes it easy to see
the mistakes you make. So when you use Grammarly, you can see the mistakes you
make instantly, that helps to lessen the number of mistakes you make while
writing.
The other advantage of using Grammarly that it
corrects, or changes the words for you. For example when you write “very
important” the extension or app changes the word into “vital”. This is an
important advantage because you can both learn new words while writing and
avoid repetition. Repetition in articles is a big disadvantage for the writer.
On the other side, Grammarly has some
disadvantages too, or at least I think that it does. Getting used to your
mistakes being corrected in the first place is a serious disadvantage, if you
do not read the articles you write, again and again, Grammarly will cause not
being able to detect your mistakes. In the long term, that will affect you in a
negative way because you will always be in need of an application to correct
your mistakes, otherwise, you will not even know you are making mistakes.
So, Grammarly could help you while writing
articles, but you should also want to improve. If you do nothing and wait for Grammarly to correct your mistakes, it will not happen. To use the application,
or extension more effectively, you must see your mistakes and how Grammarly
corrects it. By doing this, your writing will improve and in the long term,
there will be no mistakes. Taking notes here is crucial. By taking notes of the
mistakes you make, you will start to see the mistakes and avoid them, without
Grammarly’s help.
Besides correcting spelling errors, it also
offers you to improve your vocabulary, which is the best aspect of the
application, or extension. But in my opinion, there is no such application or
extension that will come from the skies and make your writing perfect. It is
an illusion, reminds me of a saying that is about a very easy thing. “If
something is very easy, it is impossible.” Grammarly will not and cannot make
you a perfect writer. It can only help writers who seek to improve their
writing.
Once the purpose of using Grammarly is
defined, it can help you a lot while writing. But as a writer, you must keep in
mind that Grammarly alone cannot improve your writing, you should always work
on your articles and make them better, Grammarly can only be a helping tool. If
you make serious grammatical mistakes, yes Grammarly will correct them. But
unless you try to lessen the mistakes, you will have to use Grammarly all the
time, that means you will not be able to write good articles without Grammarly.
So for not having to use Grammarly all the time, you should take notes of the
mistakes you make while using the program. With time, Grammarly will not be
necessary for you.
All said it's definitely worth having a look here.
Great Post. Thanks
